Appointment Types

An Emergency?

Tell the receptionist immediately that the problem is an emergency, they will inform the GP.

Need to be seen today?

If you have a problem that needs to be seen today, a number of these slots will be available each day. The exact number will be determined by how many doctors are working that session.

Not Urgent – Book in advance?

Appointments can be booked for up to 4-6 weeks in advance. This allows those patients who have regular checks with the doctor or those who require early or late appointments times to plan ahead. Tell the receptionist you wish to book ahead, to leave on the day appointments for patients who need to be seen more quickly.

Need Telephone Advice?

If you need advice or feel this is an appropriate method of dealing with your problem you can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor. You will receive a call from the doctor between 08:30am and 12:00pm on your nominated telephone number.

Need a Home Visit?

Our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason we ask our patients to come to the surgery if at all possible. However we will visit you at home if your condition means you cannot attend the surgery. Please ring before 10am to arrange a visit and let us know if your visit is urgent.

Need to be seen but not registered with the practice?

If we have appointments available, patients will be seen at the practice however when no appointments are available then you should telephone NHS 111.

Need to see a doctor in the evening/weekends/Bank Holiday?

When the surgery is closed patients who require medical advice or require treatment for medical emergencies that cannot wait until the next surgery should contact NHS Out of Hours Service on 111.
